Four short years ago, we entered Mercy's door as stu- dents. We were scared, ex- cited, or maybe somewhat indifferent, but we all had one thing in common: We were starting over. We didn't know what to except, what we would experience at our time at Mercy, but Mercy has taught us how to succeed in life. Mercy Academy has al- lowed me to grow in ways I never imagined. This school has taught me lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I have been taught that I am the future. I can go out and be an engineer, doc- tor, actor, teacher, policymak- er or anything in between. We have been given the skills to do what we want to do. Our STEM-based curricu- lum incorporates real world applications. Those math equations and people in his- tory shape our daily lives whether we realize it or not. Mercy has given us in- formation that we will use throughout our lives. We have been shown that we can change the world. Mercy has taught us to be empowered women, to act against the sta- tus quo, and to be disruptive. We have been taught how to succeed in life. "Neverthe- less she persisted, like a Mercy girl," has been our theme for the year. We have added "like a Mercy girl" as a statement to who we are as a school. At Mercy Academy, we are taught to be this disturbance, to not lie down and accept the ideals of others. A young woman of mercy fights for her right to speak and makes her opinion known. A teacher once told my friend, "Cause the prob- lems; be the issue." This encourages us to take a stand. If we see something that is wrong, we should stand up and say something. We are not powerless young women; we are strong. Most impor- tantly, we are supported by our peers in these endeavors. Mercy Academy has given me something special, some- thing which I will always cherish. This school has given me 550 sisters. Walking into the doors freshman year, I did not know anyone. It was stressful being young and having to start all over. I spent numerous sleep- less nights worrying about what my high school experi- ence would be like. I tried to think of what I wanted out of high school. I was coming in alone; all I wanted was to have some security. These young women have become my security. They are my sisters, my friends, my peers. We have cried to- gether on retreats, laughed at our walks, struggled through classes and loved each other through it all. I wanted to be part of something bigger than me. Mercy gave me this oppor- tunity. I have grown in my faith beside my best friends, learning that through God all things really are pos- sible. I am never alone be- cause my friends are always right behind me cheering me on. As a school, we have been taught what it means to be a woman of Mercy. We are strong, compassionate, pow- erful women. We have the tools to succeed. The teach- ers have taught us to persist through our challenges and believe in ourselves. To our parents, I cannot thank you enough for send- ing your daughters here. These past four years I have watched people come and go. I have watched my friends grow up and become women of Mercy, and I could not be more proud to be a woman of Mercy. I have loved experiencing major life events with each and every one of these women that have become my friends, my family. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish in the future; I'm sure it will be amazing. Once a Jaguar, always a Jaguar.

Trinity teaches students to be men
Deciding to go to Trin- ity High School has honestly been one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. Coming in as a freshman, I was young and immature. I didn't really know what it meant to be a man. I can say very confident- ly that Trinity has helped me to develop into a man of faith and character. As many people know, becoming men of faith and character is the mission statement of Trinity High School. As I have progressed over time at Trinity, I would say that there are several rea- sons why a Trinity student develops so well over his four years. All of the teachers at Trini- ty have a great chemistry with each other and the student body, all while doing a first- class job of holding their stu- dents to high standards, just as they hold themselves to. The atmosphere that peo- ple at Trinity create, letting you know they care about you, makes you want to suc- ceed and reach your full po- tential. The groups of guys that you meet at Trinity and form bonds with is something I would never trade. The motto "Brothers for Life" is simply not just a set of words. I love every single one of my fellow classmates. I know I can al- ways count on those guys to have my back when I need it most. When you walk the halls at Trinity, there is a sense of connection between you and the guy across from you. Everybody there is different, but yet we are all the same in that we are all brothers. That is something that is really special to me, and I wouldn't trade it for any- thing. The teachers care about you, fellow students care about you, and the memories I have made are ones that I will never forget. Being a se- nior this year, I look back on my time at Trinity and think, "Wow, this has really flown by, and I just wish I had more time here."

Bethlehem's alumni, parents and teachers nurture students
What do you think of when you hear the words "Beth- lehem High School?" Many people will say a college pre- paratory school or that Cath- olic school in Bardstown, but Bethlehem is so much more than that. Bethlehem is a place to grow not only in academ- ics, but also as a person with values who will help contribute to society. Beth- lehem teaches its students not to be afraid to stand out and speak their minds when they see an injustice in the world. These values are nurtured by teachers, parents and the alumni of Bethlehem High School. Bethlehem is a small private school with dedi- cated teachers. They make a conscious choice to teach at Bethlehem because they fully believe in the values that Bethlehem instills in its students. The teachers are outstand- ing and are viewed not only as teachers, but as friends to many students. From the first day of freshman year, students are encouraged to form good relationships with their teachers. During their four years, students develop bonds that make them want to visit their former teachers when they are home from college. Bethlehem is a choice that each family has to consider. Parents choosing to send their child to Bethlehem are choosing discipline, faith and academic growth. Par- ents are also ensuring that their child will be ready for college and have the skills to succeed later in life. Choos- ing Bethlehem is not just choosing a high school, it is choosing a future. Bethlehem is blessed to have a generous alumni pop- ulation. Their contributions allow the school to continue to grow by supplementing day-to-day needs as well as special projects. I am truly thankful for their contributions that have provided numerous opportunities for me and my classmates. These op- portunities have helped me to grow into the person I am today. Bethlehem has taught me it is okay to speak my mind or express an opposing view, even when I disagree with the majority. The friendships I have developed at Bethlehem not only with my peers, but also with the faculty will be something I treasure for- ever. Bethlehem has fully prepared me to succeed in college and make my mark as I enter society.
